  2. Wow, the difference between the first refused and the accepted one is really subtle. Reduced x-height and the eye of the e is a bit wider, am i correct?

  4. Regis, I think because the link who originally point the article about the redesign is missing (now updated), you miss the explanations? right?

Yes, x-height is different and widths not the same. Then many other details, such endings as mentioned on Typofonderie:

The final design feature a new C, with a specific top serif, more soft on its finish. The proportions of the various letters have been carefully adjusted: the most visible thing, is the narrow e;. The terminals of the a, t, e and C have been designed to work well all together. The x-height is slightly higher. Finally the distribution of the white space around letters have been improved: just compare a-t-e or the a-i-n with no more overlap serifs.

I still like the idea of the 3. with serifs on C, a… different design of the a. Indeed a reworking for the rest of the details too as its not a final version. This 3. version looks more a logotype/masterhead to my eyes. Saying that perhaps I miss a bit the fact its a women magazine, so delicacy is crucial as we can see on the accepted version?
