33000 pairs
Yes, in current production of Parisine Plus OpenType, we discovered that with 900 glyphs, and some kern classes, when we expand the kerns, we have 33000 pairs at the end. The OTF file is about 300kb. If we export an hypothetical AFM, the size will be around 1mb…
Ooops, yes its a scoop, we are close to finish Parisine Plus in OpenType version.

I think Fiona Ross may have the record for the Adobe Arabic Regular font: 1214 glyphs and 84,319 expanded kerning pairs. Yuri had to rewrite part of the FontLab kerning code in order to be able to handle the font.

I think you should set up categories in this “Really Big Kerning Club” as my case concern Latin script only. I have no intention to be a competitor to Arabic script kerning category. Not at all. :)
