Gerard Unger exhibit?

It sound to be the website of an exhibition (?) in the city of the late Christopher Plantin (Belgium) of the work of my colleague and friend Gerard Unger. The design of the website is very nice, have a look by yourself.

  1. Indeed, we have organised an exhibition on Gerard Unger. Let us introduce ourselves first. We (http://www.catapult.be/) are communication designers in Antwerp specialised in graphic design with focus on typography. Besides our daily activities we started with ‘Type An Sich’ a series of exhibitions about letters and letter designers. The reason why we do this is to put letters and typography more in the spotlight. In Belgium there are not many happenings in this respect. So we started with ‘Gerard Unger, Images of Letters’. We present in our gallery ‘Vitrine’ his 4 most recent types: DTL Gulliver, Paradox, Capitolium and BigVesta. You can see original designs, images of letters and realisations. The opening (10 february) was a real succes. Almost 300 persons were present to look at Gerard Unger’s work and listen to his speech. This stimulates us to continue with this concept. Feel free to visit our website (http://www.catapult.be/typeansich/) for a first impression of this event. (unfortunately this site is only available in Dutch). Do not hesitate to contact us if you want more information. (typeansich@catapult.be)
Thank you for mentioning our references on your website!
    Best regards. Anton de Haan.

  3. Hi,

I was at the opening of the exhibition and was quite disappointed by the number of information there was. However, if you live in the neighbourhood it’s certainly worth a visit. As a plus, you can take a beautiful poster home :-)

  4. good morning !
i was also at the opening
of gerard unger’s typedesign exhibit—the number of information (presented work)was more than correct and in relation the the given surface of the galery.
what really was out-of-any-relation, was the abondance of visitors that evening, the free drinks, the free ‘food’ and the very friendly atmosphere.
    wait for the next show!
