TypeCon 2004 (updated)
The sixth annual TypeCon is presented by Sota start on 21 July in San Francisco, US. The program is year after year more and more good. You leave around? it is the place to go. You leave in Europe, wait for ATypI Prague.
On side note, as French, I always found odd the use of that word after Type. The defintion is pretty clear about it! and its clearly different from the English meaning.
update Several Pics are posted on the web, I picked up Mark Simonson ones because of the nice letterings on it. His report who sound first as a random list of throughs give a good shot about what should recall from that event.

By the way, the “con” in TypeCon is short for “convention”. I think people started using it in the 1970s for science fiction and comic book conventions. It implies an informal gathering organized by enthusiasts rather than an official industry event. I think for every two languages, there is at least one innocent word in one that means something rude in the other. (This is even true for American and UK English.)
